Taylor is a Mathematics major on the pre-mad track. She has always wanted to be a doctor and is loving following her dreams. Why she joined AXiD: "I joined AXiD because I didn't know anyone from high school and was looking for a community in college. With AXiD, I found a home."
Lucille is majoring in Childhood Education. She is a fabulous dancer and enjoys working out. Why she joined AXiD: "Before I met any sister from AXiD, I didn't think I would make any friends in college. I felt lonely. Then when I met sisters of AXiD, I knew I would no longer be lonely if I joined AXiD. Also, AXiD's philanthropy, Autism Speaks, means a lot to me."
Dea majors in psychology and childhood education. Her hobbies are dancing and singing to "Work" by Rihanna. Why she joined: "I knew college was going to be a whole new experience for me and I heard that with joining a sorority you can make life long friends, and that's what I was searching for in college. I met such amazing girls the first day and clicked with everyone especially my pledge sisters. I related to everyone some way or another and that amazed me."
Amanda is an undeclared major at the college and she enjoys working out and going roller blading. Why she joined AXiD: I chose Alpha Xi Delta because I found my place here! Coming from a small school and into Brooklyn college it was a culture shock. Alpha Xi Delta felt like it was the right place for me from the beginning! I found so many life long friends/sisters and I wouldn't trade them for the world!"
Christine is an early childhood education major. She enjoys dancing, exploring new things and Netflix! Why she joined AXiD: I joined because I wanted to find friends that I could trust and love for a lifetime. I wanted to not only find friends but a family, and all the amazing memories that come along with it. From the moment I met AXiD, it was clear that it was a huge family that loved each other and supported each other through anything and I was hooked!"
Victoria is a sophomore at Brooklyn College! She enjoys doing her friends makeup, working out and ice skating. Why she joined AXiD: "I've always been kind of shy and in high school I always stayed in my comfort zone . I never joined any clubs or SING and I've always regretted leaving and having nothing to miss . I joined axid to find people I knew I could always count on and unforgettable memories I can take with me after college!"
Esther is a psychology major who enjoys working out, going out with friends, and binge watching her favorite shows. Why she joined AXiD: " "I wanted to establish life long friendships and more significantly, memorable experiences. Everyone leaves college with plenty of memories, but as a sister, you will have some unique experiences such as meeting your "BIG". Theses special moments will be moments you never forget."
Isabelle is a health and nutrition major with a concentration in physical therapy. She enjoys cooking and going to the gym. Why she joined AXiD: "After transferring to a commuter school I wanted to experience a sense of community and friendship. When I met the sisters in AXiD I found myself finding something in common with every single one of the sisters. I felt the love and support that they had for each other and I knew right away that I wanted to be part of that community."
Cindy is a marketing major and hopes to work in the fashion industry one day. She is Vietnamese. She enjoys shopping, listening to music, traveling, and trying new foods. She loves spending time with her friends and family. Why she joined AXiD: "Being a freshman in college, you don't really know many people, so I thought joining a sorority was a great way to make new friends. Seeing how close and happy all the girls were at Meet the Greeks really drew me in. Once I started hanging out and getting to know everyone, I was like this is definitely the place for me. All the girls are so amazing and I'm so proud to call them all my sisters! <3"
Khasity is a Television and Radio/Journalism major. She enjoys dancing, traveling, and blogging. Why she joined AXiD: "Being born & raised in Harlem, it was hard to find young females who I could be close to without being related to them. The bond I have with each and every female in AXiD is so strong and unbreakable, and they are my support system. We all bring such positive energy into the sorority, and older sisters that share the same major as me are always so inspiring when it comes to my career. We motivate one another & and we ride for Alpha Xi, that's the girl code."
Sarah is majoring in Speech Communication and Disorders. Her hobbies are singing, acting, and traveling. Why she joined AXiD: "I joined AXiD because I couldn't imagine being in another sorority. Our philanthropy touched my heart, too. I wanted to contribute to something bigger than myself and to really make a difference as well as personal growth. Standing alongside a chapter of beautiful girls has only motivated me to continue on striving to be the best I can be and to make my sisters proud."
Eden is a Psychology major who likes helping others, music, and traveling. Why she joined AXiD: "I joined AXiD because I want to be a part of something that I knew would help me get through my college experience and enjoy it more and I knew being a part of such a great sisterhood would help with that. The philanthropy, Autism Speaks, is also very important to me."
Samantha is an international business major. She enjoys hanging out with her friends, traveling, reading, and trying new foods. Why she joined AXiD: "'I've always been the girl with way more guy friends so when all of my girls went to different schools I felt like something was missing. I had always wanted to join a sorority and was immediately drawn to Alpha Xi Delta when I saw how close and fun these girls were. I knew that I had found the right place to start building friendships that will last a lifetime."
Amanda is an English and Sociology major and enjoys hanging out with her friends, playing lacrosse, and doing track & field. Why she joined AXiD: " I wanted a close bond with people that I can truly trust and be able to find people that I can truly cherish and from the beginning I knew I could find it in Alpha Xi Delta."
Ketrin is a Biology major. She has danced ballet and hip hop for most of her life, and it has helped shape her into the person she is today. Why she joined AXiD: "Coming into college I stopped dancing and made my education a priority, so it felt like there was a hole in my life that I needed filled. That's when I found my home in AXiD and my life felt complete again."
Gaby is a psychology major who likes gymnastics, drawing and painting, music, dancing, and eating. Why she joined AXiD: I joined AXID to be able to support and raise money for our philanthropy, Autism Speaks. Especially because I only have a brother, I wanted to be part of a sisterhood and a bond that can't be broken!"
Samantha is a vocal performance major who works on campus at the Magner Career Center and sings and volunteers in choir during her free time. She also took MMA and kickboxing for five years. Why she joined AXiD: "I decided to join AXID because I saw it as an opportunity to meet people who wanted the same thing as me, to form a bond and be close with one another and really have the college experience I thought I was missing out on by staying home."
Tanesha's major is Broadcast Journalism. Her hobbies include singing, dancing, baking, and event planning. Why she joined AXiD: "I joined AXiD because i always wanted to try something different and allow myself to open up more. I'm the only girl and don't have many girlfriends, so joining a sorority was something I really wanted to do . My mother was another reason I wanted to join, she always wanted me to join a sorority. AXiD was the first and only sorority that made me feel comfortable. I connected really well with most of the girls and it made me want to meet the rest of them. I ended up falling in love, and that's why I picked AXiD."
Aldina is majoring in Exercise Science. Her hobbies include cooking, watching anime, working out, and playing volleyball. Why she joined AXiD: "I joined because they allow me to be a part of something bigger and the connection I have with my sisters is what drives me to become a better version of myself."
Yana enjoys jogging, being out, going hiking, spending time with her friends, and obsessing over her cat. Why she joined AXiD: "The closeness of all the girls in AXiD is entirely obvious, and even though every one of them is uniquely different they all fit together seamlessly! I wanted to be part of the lifelong friendships and experience the happiness that only this sisterhood brought them."
Nelly is a business administration major with a concentration in marketing. She enjoys photography, shopping, and helping people. Why she joined AXiD: "I joined AXiD to be a part of its sisterhood and philanthropy, because they're both very dear to my heart."
Jennifer is a speech language pathology major and enjoys collecting snow globes, sleeping in, volleyball and traveling. Why she joined AXiD: "From the very first rush event that I went to, i felt like I was where I belonged - I joined AXiD to be a part of a sisterhood so true - something bigger and better than anything I could have previously ever imagined."
Sophie is currently a sophomore and a health and nutrition science major. She enjoys shopping, hanging out with her friends, working out, and doing make up for her girls. "I joined AXID because it was the perfect place to make memories and unforgettable friendships. From the very first recruitment event i knew that AXID would help me get through college and i knew that it would be a place i can call my home. Autism speaks is also an organization that I would love to help out with."
Victoria is a childhood education major. Her hobbies are binge watching Netflix, traveling, and baking (and eating what she bakes). "I joined AXID because I wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself. As soon as I met the other sisters I knew I had found my home. There is clearly an unbreakable sisterhood that lives on even after graduation. These relationships are truly lifelong and I know I have found a place where I genuinely belong."
"Going into freshman year I never pictured myself joining a sorority but as soon as I saw the sisters at rush I knew I should give it a shot. The bonds they share seemed so genuine and I wanted to be a part of that. The philanthropy work AXID does also got my attention since I hope to major in speech language pathology and go on to work with children on the autism spectrum. AXiD made me realize I wanted to be part of something bigger than myself as well as build relationships that will last a lifetime! Floriana is a junior English major. She likes reading, sports, going on little day trips and traveling. "I wanted to become apart of something bigger. I wanted to make my college experience more important. The philanthropy of Autism Speaks holds a special place for me so it already drew me in then I met so many of the girls and just wanted to share this experience with them. I joined AXID to find sisters and I’m so glad I did."
"I’m a HR major at Brooklyn College. I joined AXiD in order to find a circle of friends and instead I found a family. I always knew I wanted to be a part of AXiD from the very first moment I met them and couldn’t be happier now! In my free time I like to play games, crochet, and take tons and tons of naps!"
Jesse is currently a freshman and intends on majoring in international economics. Her hobbies consist of eating, napping, and listening to music/ dancing all the time. "Moving to New York from North Carolina was a decision I will never forget. It gave me such excitement to be on my own, but at the same time I realized my family and home was so far away now. Then I discovered AXID and fell in love with the sorority as a whole. From the beginning, every sister was so genuine and welcoming. I was amazed by their diversity and bond they shared with one another. I would have never thought of myself as one to join a sorority, but when I was introduced to AXID I knew I wasn’t just going to be a part of a sorority... I was going to be a part of a family. And now I have a home away from home."
Natalia is working on completing her major in accounting. Her goal in life is to pet every dog. "I joined AXID to build unbreakable bonds. After seeing the closeness of all the sisters, how much they care for one another and how much fun they have together, I knew that this was where I wanted to be."
Saryna is currently a freshman. Some of her hobbies include photography, art, and writing. "I joined ΑXID because I wanted to be apart of something that I could look back on in the future. I wanted to be a part of something that meant something. I've always felt like I was lost and roaming. My whole life I've never felt like I belonged anywhere. I not only found a group of girls I can now call my sisters but I found a home, I'm no longer lost and AXID is now a part of me."
Angelica is a biology major. She loves figure skating, watching Netflix, and traveling. "I joined axid because I’ve always wanted to be involved and be a part of something bigger and I wanted to have a memorable college experience. I also love the philanthropy, autism speaks, and how so much money is being raised for such a good cause. I am so glad I joined axid because I met an amazing group of girls that I bonded with instantly and grew to love."
